Barisal
Barisal is a major city that lies on the bank of Kirtankhola river in south-central Bangladesh. It is the largest city and the administrative headquarter of both Barisal district and Barisal Division. It is one of the oldest municipalities and river ports of the country. Barisal municipality was established in the year 1876 during the British Raj and upgraded to City Corporation on 25 July 2002.The city consists of 30 wards and 50 mahallas with a population of 328,278 according to the 2011 national census. The area of the city is 58 km².Barisal was a semi-independent area in the Mughal period because of heavy fighting between them and Hindu chiefs. In course of time, it fell under the Bengal Nawabs, the last being Raja Ramranjan Chakravarty and then colonial British India, later passed to East Pakistan at independence and finally Bangladesh.
Kuakata Beach
The name Kuakata is originally generated from the word Kua and Kata which means ‘Well’ and ‘to dig’ respectively.Kuakata sea beach is located at Latachapli union under the Police Station of Kalapara and at the district of Patuakhali.The dimension of the beach is 20 kilometers in length and 6 kilometers in breadth. At kuakata, you will find an extremely beautiful combination of picturesque beauty of nature and the charming seashore air, sandy beach, a huge expanse of sea water, eye-catching evergreen forest and a wide open blue sky.This place is one of those few tourist attraction point of Bangladesh that attracts both local and foreigner travelers every year. A number of well-organized hotels, motels and inns are available nearby.

Lebur Char Sea Beach is one of the fine tourist spot. It’s situated in Kuakata, Patuakhali. People of all ages can visit this natural beauty. Guthia Mosque
The Baitul Aman Jame Masjid Complex, commonly known as Guthia Mosque of Barisal, is a mosque complex of Bangladesh having a land area of 14 acres, comparing to the 8.30 acres land area of the national mosque Baitul Mukarram of the country.The Baitul Aman Jame Masjid Complex consists of a Mosque, a huge Eidgah, a graveyard, three lakes, Madrasa and an orphanage.Established on December 16, 2003, Guthia Mosque is also a tourist spot in Bangladesh.Construction of the mosque complex began in December 16, 2003 under the supervision of SAS Foundation.The complex is a private initiative by Sharfuddin Ahmed, a local politician, and a businessman.The mosque took four years and one month to be completed.

Durga sagar
Durga Sagar, known locally as Madhabpasha Dighi,is the biggest pond in southern Bangladesh. It has a total area of about 2500 hectares. The lake is about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) away from Barisal city. Rani Durgabati, mother of Raja Joy Narayan, had the pond excavated in 1780. There is a small island in the middle of the lake.It is located at Madhabpasa village of Babuganj Upazila, about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) away from Barisal town. Tourists can go there by road, including by bus, from Barisal City.

Sona Char is located in the south of Bhola which is connected both by air and road from Dhaka, Chittagong and Barisal.Sonar char or Sonakata is located in Barguna district.
